NO MARKETING BLABLA
Towards sustainable, more economical mobility
At Syklo, we’re committed to offering reliable, upgradeable and repairable products . Our offer is transparent: we work directly with renowned Asian manufacturers (Tongsheng, APT, Star Union). Our job is to provide you with the best possible product, at a more competitive price (and better quality than Bafang’s BBS01) than low-end new EAB solutions.
We keep in mind that the products we offer require the extraction of raw materials in limited quantities (👋 cuckoo Philippe Bihouix) and polluting industrial processes (👋 cuckoo Guillaume Pitron and Aurore Stephant). That’s why we work to make our products as durable and repairable as possible, without proprietary code or programmed obsolescence. Let’s face it, one of our missions is to go against the economic model of the big companies in the sector, which make their customers captive.
We want to offer a sustainable product that’s accessible to all budgets. Our prices are fair and equitable, in line with market prices, and allow us to cover our costs (wages, workshop, etc.), transport (including to your door), VAT (20%) and, above all, a 2-year warranty.

WHY SYKLO?
Who's behind Syklo?
👋 Hello everyone, I’m Yanni! In his thirties, he trained as an engineer, but above all he’s passionate about cycling 🚴♂️, ecology 🌱 and a bit of a geek 🤓.
💡 Do you know how I discovered the electrification kit? 7 years ago, my sweetheart (currently the mother of my child) was working on the outskirts of Lyon, 20 km from the city center where we lived. She wanted to switch to an electric bike ⚡ to reduce her environmental impact 🌍 and improve her daily commute. But how could we be sure it would be useful? Was it worth investing so much money 💰 (around €2500) in a top-of-the-range model?
🚴♂️ After several tests of VAEs (entry-level rented by the City of Lyon and top-of-the-range loaned by friends), I decided to convert a trekking bike into a VAE. Due to a lack of information, I made the classic first mistake of choosing a motor that was too powerful (and therefore illegal on public roads). But as time went by, my knowledge in the field grew and I discovered a new motor 🔧 (and above all a great Open Source community) that perfectly matched my needs.
🚀 It was this passion for bicycles and electrification that prompted me to launch Syklo. Living in the countryside 🌳, I wanted to contribute to decarbonization and take action on everyday mobility. And frankly, the current range of bottom bracket motor kits just didn’t suit me. Too expensive or too marketing, it was difficult to find the right compromise.

What are the differences between the 250 Wh Battery and the 630 Wh Battery?
Obviously, the first big difference is their capacity and therefore the range they offer: the 250 Wh has a shorter range than the 630 Wh. But that’s not all: the 360 Wh is lighter and more compact than the 540 Wh. On the other hand, the 540 Wh battery offers a more robust system for attaching it to your frame! your choice 🙂
How do I attach the battery to my bike frame?
The battery is attached using a support plate and M5 screws (supplied). Simply screw the plate into the holes provided on your frame for the bottle holder, respecting the recommended distances. The plate offers several fixing points to adapt the position of the battery to your preferences. The 540Wh battery mount has a steel plate that is more resistant to vibration than the 360Wh battery, which will be reserved for road use.
What is the ecological impact of a battery?
As a buyer, it’s important to be aware that battery production involves the extraction of many materials from the earth, which have a significant impact on the surrounding biodiversity. At Syklo, our batteries are fitted with high-quality cells to ensure optimum use of resources and longer life. By following the instructions for use, you’ll extend the life of your battery and contribute to a better use of energy.
Are batteries supplied with a charger?
Yes, the battery is supplied with a 42V 2A charger with DC jack plug (2.1×5.5x12mm) for rapid recharging in around 3 to 5 hours.
How long is the battery warranty?
The battery is guaranteed for 24 months. In the event of a problem, you can contact our after-sales service in France for help, or return the battery free of charge within 30 days. However, any trace of opening, impact or oxidation may invalidate the warranty. Batteries are guaranteed to retain 70% of their original capacity after 500 charge cycles or 24 months, depending on the date of manufacture. Adherence to battery maintenance instructions will help extend battery life.
How heavy is the battery and what is its autonomy?
The weight of the battery depends on the capacity you choose. The 360 Wh version weighs 2.2 kg, while the 540 Wh version weighs 3.8 kg. Autonomy depends on the capacity and level of assistance you use. On average, the battery lasts from 30 km to over 100 km per charge. Thanks to the Open Source Firmware and Display Expert, you can monitor your consumption precisely, enabling even greater energy savings.
Is the battery removable and can it be recharged off the bike?
Yes, the battery is removable and can be recharged away from the bike. For optimum charging, we recommend using the charger supplied with your bike electrification kit. To prolong the life of your battery, be sure to charge it after each use and store it at room temperature (between 10 and 20°C). Avoid letting the battery discharge completely before recharging, as this can damage the cells. It’s important to recharge your battery at least once a month and never store it completely discharged.
